What do the advertised prices actually show?
A breed-page headline and a particular puppy's listing can disagree. Sold puppies also remain visible on some pages. The distinction matters when setting a budget.

These pages are price evidence, not recommendations or a complete list of sellers. We have not confirmed stock by contacting the businesses. The examples do not establish a universal premium for imports, coat colour, pedigree or age. Ask the seller to explain the quote for the dog you are considering.

Check housing before paying a deposit
HDB: corgis are absent from the standard approved list. HDB separately describes assistance-dog arrangements with specific requirements, and Project ADORE for eligible local mixed-breed rescue dogs. Those provisions do not make a pet corgi generally HDB-approved. Use HDB's official guidance and our HDB rules guide for the distinctions.
Private premises: the general AVS limit is three cats and/or dogs combined, not three dogs in addition to cats. AVS requires prior approval to exceed that limit. Check your existing pets against the official ownership limits, and check your tenancy agreement and estate rules before committing.
Ask for cancellation and refund terms in writing. Do not assume every seller has the same policy or that a seller's assurance settles housing permission.
What should an itemised quote include?
Use this checklist to compare like with like. An advertised package is not a substitute for the documents for your puppy.

For Pembroke health screening, the breed club's guidance recommends asking about both parents' hip evaluations and eye examinations, as well as inherited conditions in the line. Its guidance also stresses the limits of genetic testing. A pedigree certificate, a high price or a general vet check does not replace those questions or guarantee future health.
How to check the seller and purchase process
Search the current AVS pet-shop registry or breeder registry for the legal name, licence number and premises. Resolve any mismatch before paying; a brand name may differ from the registered entity.
Under AVS pet-shop licensing conditions, buyer and seller complete a Pet Purchase Declaration as part of the suitability screening. Dog and cat buyers complete the online declaration through PALS when the retailer transfers ownership at completion of the sale.
Pause if the seller will not identify the business, let you verify the dog and records, or provide written terms. Price alone is not a reliable fraud test. Verify the dog, records and business rather than relying on a price threshold.
Can you adopt instead?
Check current dogs and requirements through the organisations in our Singapore adoption guide. We have not verified a corgi currently available for adoption or a standard corgi adoption fee. Ask the organisation about the individual dog's history, housing suitability, fee and completed care. Do not assume that every vaccination, microchip or sterilisation procedure is included.
Budget beyond the purchase price
Build a budget from quotes for food, grooming, veterinary care, training and care while you travel. Check the AVS licence-fee table for your dog's age, sterilisation status and licence duration. Keep one-time costs separate from recurring annual costs.
